I was deeply very moved when this design was seen for the first time . This design is very lovely. And, my loved “SWEETS”!! after all. Also,Surrounding border is lovely.

The stitched part is a little because in this block, there are three buttons.

Block 2 and 3 wait in my hand. I will be able to stitch this very happily.

Children’s Day

koinobori_anime yoroi4

Kodomo-no-hi is Children’s Day. It is celebrated on May 5. Kodomo-no-hi was established by the National Holidays Law, which was enforced in 1948.Kodomo-no-hi is one of the holidays which make up Golden Week.
Until after World WarII, Kodomo-no-hi was called “Tango-no-sekku”,Boys’ festival. This day was celebrated in order to wish the healthy growth of the boys in the family. Koinobori ( streamers ) ,the symbol of strength and courage, were flown outside and miniature suits of armor were displayed inside the house in hope of healthy growth of the boys.
Celebrating Tango-no-sekku still remains, but Children’s Day is celebrated in hope of healthy growth, happiness, and prosperity of bothboys and girls.

Streamers :::: They swim vigorously upstream against strong currents, carp are regarded as symbols of strength and perseverance. Parents hope that their children will inherit these characteristics.

” Golden Week ” is a Japanglish word. At first, the owners of film theaters started using this word after the National Holidays Law was brought into effect in 1948. The numbers of people who went to see the movies was increasing during the week, so the owner started calling
the week ” Golden week”, which meant ” supremely wonderful week.” Sincethen, this word has been popular.
Golden week is a long holiday week which starts on April 29, ” Green Day”, and ends on May 5, ” Children’s Day.” During Golden Week, Green Day, Constitution Day ( May 3), and Children’s Day are national holdays.
Once holidays were studded during this week, so Golden Week was also called ” Tobi-ishi Renkyu “, which means “stepping-stone holidays”. But recently this expression hasn’t been used.
Golden Week is an ideal tourist’s season, so many people travel abroad or around Japan.

Porch

cutecolorsquilt2 I made a pourch for an electrinic calculator.

This fabric has the handle on both sides. One is polka dots, and the other
is checks. I used both sides and sew lace on center.

I put up a red button beacuse  electrinic calculator is red.

The fabric on the inside is a floral print.
